Umbria Destination Wedding
Pietralunga / Gubbio
It was our first time that we were traveling for a destination wedding to Umbria. We’ve been there for our honeymoon and knew this beautiful region which already stole our hearts some years ago. Marjolein and Barrie choose to get married in Pietralunga at the city hall. It was a wonderful and intimate ceremony celebrated with their family and close friends.
After the ceremony they drove in their oldtimer Fiat 500 to Gubbio. They had a toast and cake at the exclusive Hotel Relais Ducale in the historic centre of Gubbio. The residence of the Duke Federico da Montefeltro, symbol of the city, the Relais Ducale is the extension of the Ducal Palace of the city and overlooks Piazza della Signoria, considered one of the most beautiful squares in Italy.

After the toast we took portraits in the historic centre of Gubbio. It was ”Festa della Repubblica” that day. The locals celebrate a tradition called ”Alzata dei Ceri”. The groom had to stand on a little trailer and ran a race fast with these wooden pegs. It was such a nice backdrop for particular and genuine pictures. After have taking some portraits we went back to Pietralunga for the diner. Traditional and authentic food prepared by Agriturismo Casale il Sogno.
