Engagement Milan Italy Duomo & Navigli

Last summer Katie & Derek, a lovely couple from the United States, contacted us if we wanted to document their engagement in Milan. We were so honored to do so and started planning a sunrise session. However, the weather forecast was quite bad with a lot of rain but we however moved forward and went to Milan.

The city is so poetic in the early morning and its awakening has given us so much inspiration just to enjoy the beauty of Milan at sunrise. In addition, if you would like to do a photo shoot in the center without too many people around and take advantage of a soft and warm light, this is absolutely the best time of the day. Around 6:00 A:M at first it was still cloudy but we were able to make some incredible shots at the Duomo square, which was totally empty.

After we moved to the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. Did you know it is the oldest active shopping gallery in Italy and named after the first king of the Kingdom of Italy.  It was designed in 1861 and built by architect Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1877.

After we took some pictures in front of the famous opera house ‘La Scala’ and moved ahead by metro to Navigli.

Navigli is an interconnected system of canals in and around Milan in the region Lombardy. The system consists of 5 canals and we went to Naviglio grande. It’s so pittoresk and urban at the same time. You can find of cute bars and restaurants to have an aperitivo, lunch or diner.

We had a little coffee break together and took some more shots and headed back to our home Lago Maggiore.

Would you like to plan a photo session in Milan too? Please contact us for more information.
