Elopement in Iceland
With Wine Tasting

Elopement in Iceland

Last year we’ve organized together with the talented and creative Patrizio Busa from Tannini Setosi, sommelier and photographer, an exhibition on Elopement in Iceland, photo’s shot in Iceland by me and in combination with a wine-tasting.

I went to Iceland last year in May to a portfolio bootcamp organized by Madame Poppy and Best Day Ever Events. It was an amazing experience. The weather was constantly changing, and infact there was so much wind the next day they closed the Black Beach.

“to run off,” probably from Middle Dutch (ont)lopen “run away” To elope, most literally, means to run away and to not come back to the point of origin. Simply speaking, elopement is often used to refer to a sudden and secretive marriage, usually involving a hurried flight away together with one’s beloved. Today the term “elopement” is colloquially used for any marriage performed in haste, with a limited public engagement period or without a public engagement period at all. It simply means getting married together with or without witnesses be it either in the local city hall or up in the mountains in Iceland.

The location was stunning, at the ex. colonia Elioterapica in Germignaga VA. It was a hot summers weekend and accompanied with music from the 30’s and 40’s it gave good vibes. Have a look for yourself.

A special thanks goes to: Stefania Cernobi, Damiano Gambella, mamma di Busa, Enrichetta Gambella, Paolino Gambella.
